Job Description:

Perkins Coie LLP has an immediate opening for an E-Discovery Services & Strategy (ESS) Analyst. The ESS Analyst assists the Senior Analysts and ESS department with technical e-discovery support. The ideal candidate will provide technical litigation and e-discovery support to attorneys, clients and paralegals through all phases of the e-discovery lifecycle, including data processing, culling, analysis, and production.


This is a virtual practice group and this role has the option to be 100% remote.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.

  • Assist clients, lawyers, and paralegals with the organization of electronic information including design, development, and use of legal support software, especially data processing and database and imaging applications.
  • Provide technical support and training on core litigation support tools. Currently these tools include Relativity, DISCO, eCapture, Everchron, and Case Notebook.
  • Load data and image files/transcripts into litigation and full-text transcript databases.
  • Process and load data using DISCO, eCapture and Relativity.
  • Address data issues (exceptions, processing errors, missing metadata).
  • Consult case teams regarding platform features, search construction, and technical data issues.
  • Work on internal departmental projects including documentation.
  • Maintain positive contact with clients and observe confidentiality of client matters.
  • Keep accurate time records.
  • Prepare material for in-house and outside distribution.
  • Keep track of case/matter deadlines.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide client support after business hours and on the weekend as directed by the Manager, E-Discovery Analysts.


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical expert in the creation, organization, and maintenance of large databases.
  • Manage full-cycle electronic case data from inception to trial or case closing.
  • Ability to analyze a problem/project quickly and accurately, and propose out-of-the-box solutions.
  • Work as part of a team of analysts responsible for working with project managers, attorneys and paralegals to manage and track discovery data, process data, perform quality control, maintain case databases and produce data.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Solid technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in standard MS Office applications and ability to quickly master new litigation software.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and to exercise discretion and independent judgment.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years of related e-discovery experience, or equivalent.
  • Requires expertise in litigation support software such as Relativity and DISCO.

This position may be filled in the following location(s).  The compensation depends on qualifications and experience.

New York compensation range: $78,310 to $116,360 annually 

Washington state compensation range: $71,190 to $105,780 annually 

Washington, D.C. compensation range: $76,890 to $114,240 annually
