As a Sales & Service Representative you will deliver quality service and insurance recommendations to current and prospective Markel customers. This is a combined service and sales role with the expectation that sales vs. service responsibilities will be split based on business needs. All sales leads are provided and there is no outbound cold calling.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work diligently to find resolution to customer concerns and escalate to appropriate level when necessary.
  • Convey information efficiently, effectively, and appropriately in order to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Strive for first call resolution in order to provide “best in class” service.

CSRs are required to stay current and knowledgeable of all procedures to ensure department standards and guidelines are meet, which include Schedule Adherence, Quality Assurance, First Contact Resolution, Average Talk Time, Average Handle Time, and Average Speed of Answer.

Qualifications/Skill sets:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Dedicated to providing a positive customer experience.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally over the phone.
  • Strong technical background/ability to multi-task in several systems at once.
  • Willingness to learn new material and systems/applications.
  • Accountable and reliable.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college is a plus!
  • Property/Casualty Insurance License desired (if not licensed, must obtain license within 90 days of employment).
  • 1 or more years of insurance sales/service experience desired. Customer Service experience required.
  • Demonstrated job stability and attendance records
  • Remote working experience a plus
  • Solid computer, grammar and multi-tasking skills
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish Required

Compensation:  Starting pay ranges from $20 - $23.00/hour based on the candidate's experience, education. Hours of M-F and some weekends and holidays. 

Work Location:

This position is either Hybrid (3days in office/2 days at home) if one lives near Markel office location or 100% work from home if outside of Markel office location.

*In addition to regular hourly pay, there is an annual Performance Bonus Potential.
