At Diverzify, we believe our associates are at the heart of our organization. We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team.  The Data Engineer is responsible for transforming Diverzify’s data from a raw state into a valuable and intuitive tool for our leaders and operational stakeholders. In addition, this role must incorporate a solid business understanding combined with a deep technical understanding of the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Azure SQL, etc.), along with API implementation experience.

Key aspects also include the expanding and optimization of our data and data pipelines, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for teams across Diverzify. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The role will experience the entire data lifecycle of initial building, optimizing, or re-designing of our data architecture to support the growing need for analytics.


Job Description

  • With partnering with BI leadership, develop and mature our data extraction and ingestion pipelines/APIs from our main ERP, CRM, MKT, and HRIS applications to ensure that our stakeholders are provided with valuable insights that grow and change with the business
  • Drive processes to monitor and improve data reliability and quality of our data from their source applications
  • Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement with business stakeholders
  • Build insightful Power BI analytic reports to provide actionable insights that are well utilized by stakeholders; if use declines, the role will work with stakeholders on enhancements to improve the value of data
  • Assist to make decisions based on prioritized backlog and established release timelines
  • Collaborate with the business delivery team and product stakeholders to manage the product backlog according to business value and level of work effort (return on investment).
  • Participate in sprint retrospectives to continuously improve the business delivery effectiveness
  • Collaborate with other technical leaders on enterprise dependencies and/or priorities
  • Perform an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of sprint goals
  • Perform other functions as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Three or more years of data engineering experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Microsoft data ecosystem, users, and roadmap, including experience with API utilization
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with Azure SQL databases, query authoring (T-SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with business delivery teams, leadership, senior management and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and business teams.
  • Understanding of data warehousing methodologies, industry standards and best practices
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills to evaluate, prioritize and categorize data for integrations/reports
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft office suite, and T-SQL databases
