Education

  • RHIT/RHIA certification preferred, minimum of 4 years experience with electronic medical record systems.

Experience/qualifications

  • RHIT/RHIA a plus. Experience in Electronic Medical Record systems, interface specific experience with HL7, BDI, ORU, ADT and SIU segment knowledge, index correction utility exposure, FSI failures and reprocessing of document jobs.
  • STAR, Cerner, ProVation, iHeal, Aria, Point Click Care, eCW, Optima and Xfit Rehab application experience a plus. 
  • Must have strong knowledge in excel, access, & Vizio.
  • Strong understanding of HIM record processing, workflow and Electroinc Medical Records.
  • Strong analytic, and computer skills. Project Management experience a plus.
  • Must also have good communication and organizational skills.

Job Duties

The HIM Application Analyst is responsible for working with HIM Director/Manager to handle application integration requirements and other additonal administrative duties.

  • Monitoring and tracking of 3rd party application documents
  • Special projects involving record archival, retention and long term storage validation with Retention Policy
  • Work in conjuction with HIM Manager and other key individuals to identify opportunities for process improvement to attain goal of one MPI, one Legal Medical Record, one Patient Portal and one HIE
  • Monitor FSI failures in conjunction with IT interface analyst and reprocess jobs
  • Manage weekly 3rd party application audits to ensure all legal medical records reside in Cerner
  • Educate/train departments related to application needs for legal medical record integrity based on audit results
  • Other duties as assigned
