Job Description:

Position Summary 

In this role you will be responsible for processing and managing leave requests in compliance with United States, Canada, and India labor laws and Phreesia policies. You will work closely with our vendors, HR Team, managers, and employees to ensure our employee leave of absence experience is at the highest level and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. 

To be successful in this position, you need to collaborate effectively with vendors, management, and employees about existing policies and continuously educate these key stakeholders on plan and policy interpretation. Preferred candidates will understand the local leave of absence requirements across India, the U.S. and Canada, have a strong desire to learn about the complexities of compliance, trends in our industry and implement changes as needed. 


Description of Duties 

  • Administer leave of absence programs for Phreesia employees in India, Canada and the United States. 
  • Address employee inquiries related to different leave types, eligibility, duration and entitlements through various communication channels such as chat, email and ticketing systems. 
  • Provide guidance and leave of absence policy interpretation to employees, managers, and HR peers.  
  • Support leave of absence policy and employee resource creation, maintenance, enforcement, and education. 
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate deductions and pay for leaves of absence.  
  • Maintain integrity of employee absence records, recommend process improvements, and automate where possible.  
  • Keep abreast of applicable laws and ensure regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws impacting benefits, wellness, workers compensation, leaves, accommodations, disability management, etc. 
  • Support benefits administration and HR Operations projects for employees in India, Canada, and United States. 

Shifts: 2:00 PM IST to 11:00 PM IST

Education  : Bachelor's Degree required

Experience, Knowledge & Skills :

  • 2-4 years of experience in human resources with at least 1 year in leave of absence administration. 
  • Knowledge of local and federal laws and regulations regarding leave of absence in India, the United States, and Canada. 
  • Experience in managing leave of absence, time-off, and workers’ compensation programs for a global organization. 
  • Excellent analytical skills to research and evaluate data and legislation to make informed choices.   
  • The ability to present information clearly and in a manner that is understandable to managers and employees and to answer questions.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Technology :

Workday experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, Sharepoint and Teams) required.
