We are seeking a highly skilled Ad Tech Engineering Manager to manage and enhance our ad server capabilities, overseeing a talented squad of engineers and ensuring seamless integration across our ad platform.

The salary for this role ranges from $150,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location, and has bonus opportunities.
WHAT YOU’LL TACKLE
- Ad Server Scalability: Enhance ad server features to improve scalability in ad trafficking, consolidating ad assets, organizing media placements, and developing effective ad management tools.
- Feature Development: Implement standard and custom templates, optimize ad management tools for bulk operations, targeting, scheduling, and ensure back-end tracking for ad performance metrics.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Sales, AdOps, Media Ops, and Data Science, to deliver solutions that meet their specific needs and operational goals.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
As the Ad Tech Engineering Manager, you’ll mentor, lead, and manage a growing team of engineers, setting goals and tracking progress while driving the design, development, and deployment of innovative ad solutions. You will be accountable for executing your team’s roadmap and ensuring the successful delivery of robust solutions that create powerful experiences for millions of readers seeking financial empowerment. Specific initiatives you will oversee include:
- Ad Asset & Media Placement Consolidation: Manage and streamline ad assets (offers and creatives) and organize media placements for better efficiency.
- Ad Management Tools: Enhance features and functionalities within the ad tool, improving ad management with bulk operations, advanced targeting, and scheduling capabilities.
- AdOps Dashboards: Develop basic dashboards to help AdOps teams track and manage their operations more effectively.
- Back-End Tracking: Ensure robust back-end tracking for ad performance and metrics.

In addition to technical leadership, you will collaborate with digital product managers to create plans for prioritizing technical and resource challenges within your team. Quickly becoming an expert on product architecture, workflows, and business domains, you will balance the need for speed with the importance of correctness and quality in everything your team undertakes. You’ll instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team’s code, architecture, and processes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Background
- 6-8+ years at ad agencies or in ad tech, with hands-on experience in ad workflows, campaign integrations, and trafficking, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Python programming, with a strong understanding of Python libraries and frameworks relevant to data processing and web development (e.g., Flask, Django, Pandas).
- Demonstrated experience with ad server architectures, trafficking, ad asset management, and performance tracking.
- Strong skills in setting up and managing data tracking and analytics systems to measure ad performance.
- Experience in developing and managing API-based integrations across ad servers, data systems, and other related tools.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration with teams such as AdOps, Sales, and Data Science to understand and deliver on operational and business requirements.
