Mirus Bio is expanding and has an immediate opening for a Channel Sales Manager position. The Channel Manager is responsible for the growth of sales and profitability through maintaining and growing relationships with our distribution channel partners worldwide and is responsible for customer relationship improvement and customer base increase. This position is an outstanding opportunity to drive growth through current and new business opportunities throughout the world. This role will connect with our domestic and international distribution partners and pave the way for successful sales activities. The right candidate will join a customer-centric team to nurture the customer experience with Applications and Technical Support, Marketing, Quality, Production, R&D, Customer Service, and Shipping departments and will report to the Global Director of Sales. This is a full-time position and reports to the CCO. The responsibilities outlined below may change depending on the number of projects, sales opportunities, and current business priorities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned channel partner accounts.
  • Coordinate the engagement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources to meet channel partner performance objectives and partners' expectations.
  • Improve sales orders, margin, market share, customer satisfaction of given products and business solutions.
  • Develop channel operation strategy based on analysis of market situation and dynamics in channel operation.
  • Monitor and analyze channel performance and evaluates sales funnels of assigned channel partners for accurate forecasting on a regular basis and in a timely manner.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate partner needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Handle potential channel conflict with other firm sales channels by encouraging excellent communication internally and externally.
  • Lead solution development efforts that best address end-user needs, while coordinating the involvement of all crucial company and partner personnel.
  • Proactively recruit new qualified channel partners and negotiate channel agreements based on company needs.
  • Ensures all channel agreements are up to date or renegotiated at the end of their term.
  • Conducts frequent channel partner business reviews to align on strategy and tactics to drive and promote the business.
  • With the support of Marketing, ensure channel partners are adequately trained and have what they need to succeed.
  • Develop and execute successful sales strategies for rapid revenue growth and market share expansion in channel territories.
  • Achieve annual product sales goals set for each distributor while working in coordination with the local channel team within their territory.
  • Maintain accurate and timely opportunity funnel and customer data in customer relationship management (CRM) portal (e.g., Salesforce) with guidance as needed.
  • Monitor and develop awareness of competitive activities and strategies and reports on regional and distributor sales relevant to the region.
  • Actively provide feedback regarding customer requirements, product evaluations, and general product improvements.
  • Generate new ideas that grow market share and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Obtain feedback and organizes voice of the customer (VOC) information, assesses competition and customer feedback to understand our success or failure in the market, and suggests changes to our products, messaging, and customer support for improvement.
  • Maintain strong working relationships within Marketing, Applications and Technical Support, Customer Service, Product Management, Operations, and Shipping departments.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in the field via literature and personal communications with researchers and other life science suppliers.
  • Develop leadership, mentorship, exemplary work ethic, and model behavior consistent with Mirus Bio core values.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by CCO

REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or other life sciences-related, or commensurate work experience.

Professional:
  • 5 of more years' experience working within the academic life sciences and biotech/pharmaceutical industry, an exceptional ability to operate at the intersection of science and business, and drive value creation through external innovation.
  • 2 or more years of proven experience in channel management and indirect sales.
  • 2 or more years of public speaking/presentation experience preferred. Highly driven, proactive individual with a strong motivation to succeed and drive business growth.
  • Technical expertise in life science research domain preferred.
  • Experience with transfection, electroporation, or viral transduction workflows is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce or other) preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Effective in opportunity management, problem-solving, organization.
  • Comfortable with setting and upholding deadlines, working in a cross-functional team setting.
  • Approachable, friendly personality and ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Product management, marketing, or technical support experience in a life sciences company is a plus.

Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel independently up to 20%, including overnight travel.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle; Must have current and valid U.S. driver license.
  • Ability to travel by air; Must have current and valid U.S. passport.

This position has a salary range of $92,000 - $120,000 per year and will be commensurate with experience.
