Job Description:
We are hiring for a Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and cultivating market opportunities aimed at growing sales and market share for Castrol’s US retail business. The role holder will engage in the automotive aftermarket and retail industry to demonstrate Castrol investment and leadership to stay ahead of customer needs. They will seek and implement standard methodologies from other organizations with bp Group, Castrol’s competitive set, and the wider retail marketplace.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement strategic approach to business development to include prospective accounts that are aligned with Castrol’s strategy and objectives to help grow our retail share in the US.
- Prospect, engage, large white space opportunities. Work with global marketing to understand current pilot programs and plan for roll outs when applicable.
- Employs an entrepreneurial growth mindset to identify, develop, and execute strategic growth opportunities within the retail sales channel.
- Supports the development of financial plans and revised forecasts for the retail sales channel. Monitors aggregated performance versus agreed upon metrics and makes interventions as necessary to deliver performance targets.
- Collaborate with retail National Account Managers, Category Managers, Sales Team Leads, and retail Sales Manager to build robust sales pipeline.
- Support work required to advance pipeline opportunities through to conversion.
- Ensure utilization of our digital tools available to support territory management including the use of Salesforce, Power BI, and competitive pricing tool.
- Demonstrate industry leadership by actively participating in appropriate events and associations.
- Ensure standard process development thru SOP post-mortem documentation in OMS.
- Implement advanced value selling techniques to enhance value for both our customers and Castrol, negotiate with customers within agreed DOAs ensuring not to make any promise that cannot be delivered.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales, marketing or technical field.
Experience and Job Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years in sales, sales management and/or marketing experience selling products through retail channel.
- Cross functional management experience and working within multi-layers of an organization.
- Experience in the execution of marketing programs. Good management and negotiation of programs and offers experience.
- Working knowledge of Auto business.
- Track record of coaching for performance. Strong leadership qualities and ability to think strategically to develop and execute longer term team strategies.

How much do we pay: 100-143K *Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting. This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 – 240 hours of vacation per year for full times employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees). You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
