What You Will Do:

The Senior Manager for Coder Training; Professional Fee, shall report directly to the Director of Education and Training. The Senior Manager for Coder Training will work intimately with the Professional Fee coding leadership team to establish and implement a comprehensive professional fee coder training plan. The Senior Manager will be responsible for working directly with selected third-party coder training partners to define training curriculum, implement, monitor, track and report training progress and completion. Will assist and partner with the professional fee coding leadership team in the design, development, and facilitation of standardized, reproducible internal coder training materials as an adjunct to the third-party training partner platform and curriculum. The Senior Manager will be directly responsible for cultivating and training credentialed and/or non-credentialed coders who can achieve and meet Guidehouse productivity and coding quality accuracy expectations once placed in a coding production role. The Senior Manager for Coder Training will work directly with the Director of Coding Education to ensure internally developed curriculum is housed in the GuideCat learning system and is compliant, consistent, and up to date.


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree or 14 years of medical coding/management/training experience in lieu of degree
  • 10 years combination of prior medical coding/management/training experience
  • Must hold one of the following active credentials: CPC preferred, would accept CCS, CPC-P, RHIA, RHIT (acceptable if meets all other required skills)
  • 5 years professional fee coding experience to include some of the following: Coding skill set in multi-specialty CPT surgical code assignment: Neurosurgery, Cardio-thoracic, ENT, Orthopedics, Hematology/Oncology injections & infusions, plastics, OB/GYN
  • Knowledge of Evaluation/Management coding guidelines
  • 50% travel to San Antonio, TX if not local


What Would Be Nice to Have:

  • 5 years prior coder training and or educator experience

The annual salary range for this position is $86,500.00-$129,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
