Williams Lea is hiring for a Remote Studio Manager for our Wheeling, WV office to work Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm!

Pay: $64,000/year

The Studio Manager is responsible for technical and logistical operations of the creative studio, including resource and process management (scheduling, production, quality check and delivery) of various print, web and/or multimedia projects to meet brand guidelines and business objectives.

Job qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in display advertising and direct marketing in the print, digital and mobile space
  • Bachelor’s degree in creative or production related field.  A combination of work experience and education can be substituted
  • 5+ years in graphics implementation
  • 3+ years people management experience
  • Complete understanding of digital artwork, print and studio communication
  • Computer/IT literate, preferably on Macs
  • Adobe CC (must be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of in-design and illustrator)
  • Full knowledge of all production methodologies and digital formats
  • Understanding of CMD and internal working processes
  • Client facing experience essential

Job duties

  • * Oversee the staffing levels in the department, freelance and full-time
  • *Directly manage Studio team including Developers, Designers & Art Workers
  • *Oversee the overall quality of the deliverable coming out of the unit
  • *Ensure client SLA and deliverable dates are met
  • *Ensure appropriate hardware/software levels are maintained
  • *Ensure all jobs are properly booked and invoiced in CMD
  • *Ensure correct use of job flow within the department
  • *Ensure latest workflow methodologies are reviewed and applied as appropriate
  • *Ensure correct and thorough use of near/off-shore support
  • Remain aware and versed in emerging technology and apply to workflow where appropriate
  • *Identify opportunities to partner with creative agencies
  • Create new products for WLT to present to their clients e.g.; Mobile products Digital POS mobile Apps
  • *Ensure brand consistency across all brands while offering a fresh approach
  • *Interpret and translate the brief/client requirements and effectively communicate to Art Workers & Designers
  • Help WLT deliver the best output to market and to our client’s customers high expectations
  • Be proactive and therefore anticipate and rectify issues at project outset before they become a problem
  • *Develop & maintain a strong relationship with the internal Project Managers clients, creative agencies, print suppliers and team members
  • *Develop and maintain a great understanding and appreciation of the client’s brands and clients’ customers
  • *Develop and evolve methodologies to remove client frustrations and enhance the ‘user’ experience
  • Work with agencies to create templates for new campaigns and best practices
  • Guide production team to ensure that jobs created in an appropriate fashion – e.g. being present or having meetings about large upcoming projects as and when they arise not when they appear
  • Support the project managers, QC, reprographics, printers, creative client and WLT team members every day.
  • *Ensure that Time and Materials are correctly accounted for to help produce accurate billing and invoice information
  • *Ensure that the studio is run cost effectively and that personnel understand cost implications
  • Identify and carry out any necessary trials, test or research in order to benefit projects, maintain quality and reduce cost
  • *Build and maintain brand understanding throughout the team and the wider WLT network of all major brands
  • Keep abreast of technology both in Print, Online & Digital media
  • Build and drive your relationship with key contacts in the business (studio, report, creative, print supplier, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and external suppliers, such as printers and strategic agencies, to achieve the marketing goal.
  • Identification, Documentation and Investigation of circumstances surrounding Internal Non Conformance and in-house revisions
  • Continuous assessment of the Studio’s working practices in order to identify improvements and efficiencies within the operating processes
