The Opportunity 

As an Epidemiology Solutions Principal at PicnicHealth, you will work directly with our Sales and Research Teams to design and oversee fit for purpose studies for our research partners to further our mission of providing clinical insights, and improve health for all.  You’ll serve as the scientific solutions expert on PicnicHealth Research using your strong epidemiology background in study design and methodology of primary and secondary data studies, an understanding of electronic health records, patient reported outcomes, administrative claims, registries, and/or other observational datasets.  

You’ll bring experience in the biopharmaceutical industry (including service providers) designing, executing, and overseeing observational and low interventional studies.  Coupled with knowledge of the ecosystem of real world evidence including: regulations regarding pharmacovigilance, risk management and safety reporting; drug development; non-interventional and low interventional research methodologies; and pharmacoepidemiologic statistical-analysis models. You’ll use a strong customer orientation and be a compelling scientific evangelist for PicnicHealth’s platform. 

As Epidemiology Solutions Principal you will:

  • Own defining all scientific and operational details of a study, including how to best leverage the platform to achieves customer goals
  • Run scientific discovery and study design:
    • Ensuring that appropriate intel is collected and then developing fit-for-purpose PicnicHealth solutions and study designs designed to maximize the value of PicnicHealth solutions to be proposed to research partners
    • Serving as a SME during conversations addressing key epidemiologic questions around study/protocol design, operational considerations, and epidemiologic budgeting
    • Working closely with Sales counterparts to qualify potential deals and drive forward qualified deals owning the scientific and operational workstreams
  • Ensure seamless hand-off of closed won opportunity to the delivery organization and plan for regular follow-up with customer’s key scientific stakeholders 
  • Regularly share customer feedback on PicnicHealth approaches and value proposition with relevant internal stakeholders (e.g., Product and Marketing)
  • Participate in thought leadership to advance the scientific credibility of PicnicHealth’s value proposition
You are a strong fit for this role if:
  • Master's Degree Public health, epidemiology, outcomes research, health economics or a relevant scientific field and 8 years relevant experience preferred or, Ph.D. with 5 years relevant experience preferred
  • 3+ years experience leading studies and in a sales-facing role in pharma, specifically hybrid studies preferred (e.g., combo of site based and patient centric)
  • Superior communication skills, especially in client-facing, consultative interactions; ability to create and present a compelling storyline to a variety of audiences
  • Intellectual curiosity and independence, has the ability to self-start and self-teach– you see hard problems as fun puzzles
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to forge and manage significant relationships within the organization and with external stakeholders
  • You have a track record of producing scientific publications using RWD or other observational datasets

Target Base Salary Range: $175K - $210K

The base salary PicnicHealth offers may vary depending upon the scope, complexity, and autonomy of the position and on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total package will include equity, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
