Paradigm is a software company transforming the way that the residential, construction & building product industries operate across the globe. We are looking for a Category Manager to be part of revolutionizing these industries.

This pivotal role focuses on building and managing our product portfolio to meet the needs of the residential construction market, particularly in the areas of interior design such as appliances, lighting, plumbing fixtures, flooring, tile, paint, and cabinetry. The Category Manager will serve as a critical link between our marketplace and manufacturers/distributors, ensuring that we offer a product mix that not only meets market demands but also positions us as the go-to e-commerce platform for homebuilders. This role is instrumental in driving our company's growth, profitability, and competitive advantage in the building materials sector.

What You Will Do:

  • You will develop, defend, and implement category strategies that align with the company’s goals ensuring our product portfolio has the right products from the right manufacturers. Plans will be thoroughly documented to inform stakeholders.
  • You will conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges for homebuilders within each product category.
  • You will buildand maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, brands, potentially subcontractors, and marketplace sellers as resources for your understanding of the market and changing product trends.
  • You will guide requirements for collecting product information from manufacturers identifying requirements to support fast and informed product selection.
  • You will oversee the visual and textual presentation of products within the category, ensuring listings are optimized for shopper experience.
  • You will drive category growth by achieving sales and profitability targets through effective assortment planning.
  • You willwork closely with software teams to develop marketplace features supporting effective presentation and efficient selection of products. You will also work with our product information team to facilitate access and collection of data.
  • You will regularly review seller performance within your assigned categories providing feedback to the Seller Success Team and seeking improvements where necessary to maintain high standards of customer service and product quality.
  • You will regularly review category performance against objectives, providing reports to management and adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize results.
  • You will ensure the accuracy of produced material lists coming through our tools and ensure that the products are available for sale.


What You Need to Succeed:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related field.
  • You have good knowledge of single-family residential construction.
  • You must have 4+ years of experience in category management, ideally 7+ years.
  • Experience in any of the following roles is highly desirable, including materials sales to builders, purchasing roles for builders, or design center roles helping homebuyers select products for their new home.
  • You have product knowledge within your assigned categories that includes detailed application knowledge, differentiating features and benefits along with knowledge of relationships across various products.
  • You have a strong background in working with manufacturers and distributors in the building industry.
  • You have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market research.
  • You have a merchant’s eye for detail, understanding how customers evaluate and select products in your assigned product categories.
  • You have e-commerce experience with an understanding of how to effectively present product information facilitating fast and inform product selection.
  • You have strong organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across teams and with external partners. You develop and disseminate consistent, impactful communication of progress and impact.

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Most roles at Paradigm have three levels, Associate, Mid and Senior. Our pay ranges are inclusive of all three levels (if applicable), our US based Associate level pay begins at $69,225 annually for this role. The salary does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary and benefits. These compensation levels are subject to an annual review.
