Our Technology team is looking for an Associate Application Engineer to join our growing team in our Worcester Headquarters or remote work location consideration.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Associate Application Engineer will apply technical knowledge/capabilities and development skills to design and develop efficient application software solutions, based upon business requirements and technical specifications.
The Associate Application Engineer ensures thorough unit testing of all new software applications and enhancements to existing software applications.
This is a Full-time, Exempt role.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Be responsible for developing, testing, and the deployment of software applications.
- Understand our users end to end experience, and find ways to enhance it
- Contribute to planning and designing project requirements
- Adhere to all quality standards and procedures
- Collaborate with project team members during development process
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- 1+ year of experience in software development
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (i.e Lawful Permanent Residence or US Citizen)
- Ability to analyze and creatively solve problems
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a multi-priority environment with demanding timelines
- Capability to execute well-defined project tasks
- Strong and effective communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to pay attention to minute detail and quality
- Be a highly motivated, self-learner, and technically inquisitive
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
- Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (IE must be a green card holder or US citizen).
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Experience in Java development or similar object-oriented language and understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Experience in using an integrated development environment (IDE) like Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA
- Solid understanding of web services (SOAP and REST)
- Familiarity with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Ability to write SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and updates and familiarity with relational database concepts
- Familiarity with version control systems, like Git/Bitbucket
- Understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD, and associated processes and tools
- Familiarity with Agile software development practices
- Basic Cloud knowledge
