Our Location: This position is remote, home office based in specifically approved states of employment. Approved States: Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Washington state . Job Vision: The Craft Operations Accountant provides daily processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, as well as general accounting responsibilities for the Craft organization. As a part of the Accounting team, the Ops Accountant achieves efficient process and implementation of new ERP. The Ops Accountant works to ensure the accounting for the Craft aligns in setting budgets, maintaining accounting processes and other expectations of the New Wave Group organization. The Ops Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and will provide backup support to Accounting Team members as needed.
Working remotely from an approved payroll state, the Ops Accountant for Craft is responsible for:
- Process full-cycle accounts payable, including vendor management
- Preparing payment runs and posting direct debit payments
- Enforce proper accounting policies and principles as it pertains to accounts payable
- Ensure internal controls are followed and maintained as related to the accounts payable function
- Ensure proper GL coding for all AP activity recorded in accordance with the chart of accounts
- Assist with month- end accruals
- Post cash receipts payments and apply them to customer accounts
- Process credit cards and reconcile settlements
- Obtain and review credit reports for new customers
- Assist with various inquiries and requests related to the accounts payable and receivable functions, from customers, vendors, and auditors
- Assist with customer collections issues
- Assist team with ad hoc projects, and assistance in other job functions as needed
- Assist with implementation of accounting tools to help automate and streamline processes
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- 3+ years of related experience is required
- Degree or equivalent educational course work in accounting preferred.
- Experience with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics / NAV preferred, Infor M3 is highly desired
- Proficient with Excel
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- High degree of attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to work remotely and independently and interact with various teams when needed.
- Flexible to meet changing priorities and the ability to prioritize workload to achieve on time accurate results
- Strong analytical skills
