Job Summary
The Benefit Configuration Specialist is responsible for the accurate and efficient configuration of all behavioral healthcare benefits within our systems. This role is essential in ensuring that our members receive accurate benefits based on their plan specifications, and that our systems are up-to-date and functioning properly. The Benefit Configuration Analyst has a strong understanding of healthcare benefits, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing maintenance of benefit configurations.
Essential Functions - Benefit Configuration:
- Accurately configure and maintain behavioral healthcare benefits in the company’s system, ensuring that all plan designs are correctly reflected and that members receive the appropriate benefits according to their plan specifications.
- Work closely with internal teams such as Claims, Operations, IT, and Product Development to ensure seamless integration and implementation of benefit configurations. Provide support and guidance on benefit-related issues and system enhancements
- Engage with health plan partners and internal stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements for benefit configuration at time of health plan setup.
- Partner with Customer Success and other internal stakeholders to solicit and finalize requirements for health plan benefit updates as they occur but, at minimum, annually.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to benefit configuration promptly.
- Create, update, and maintain detailed documentation of benefit configurations, changes, and updates, ensuring that all processes and procedures are well-documented and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in testing and implementation of new benefit configurations ensuring accuracy.
- Act as a subject matter expert for benefit configuration, offering guidance and support to other team members.
- Quality Assurance:
- Analyze benefit configuration data to detect trends, identify issues, and propose opportunities for improvement. Generate reports and provide actionable insights to management regarding the status of benefit configurations and any associated risk.
- Ensure that all benefit configurations adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies. Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry standards, and adjust configurations as needed to maintain compliance.
- Continuously review and enhance benefit configuration processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Document and maintain comprehensive workflows and user guides of processes.
- Customer Service
- Understand benefit and benefit eligibility information within health plan systems to provide accurate information to members.
- Provide timely response via email to members regarding benefit inquiries.
- Adhere to Lucet’s Mission Statement, Core Values, Behaviors, Code of Ethical Business Conduct, and Compliance Program.
- Comply with all Federal and applicable State and local laws and Lucet Policies and Procedures regarding privacy, confidentiality, and security of health information, and other designated information.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field plus 2+ years of experience in benefit configuration, payer/claims, healthcare operations, or similar role OR
- 5+ years’ experience in benefit configuration healthcare operations or related.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare benefits, particularly in the behavioral health sector
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to demonstrating the highest standard of ethical conduct and integrity; strong willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors in a remote, home-setting or typical office environment - not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

- Physical demands include constant ability to remain in a stationary position, move about inside an office or remote setting, able to communicate and exchange information with others, able to inspect information, and able to perform repetitive motion with arms and fingers.

Salary And Other Compensation
The starting salary that Lucet reasonably expects to pay for this position ranges from $21.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills, education/degrees, certifications, prior experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of Lucet's incentive plan based on both company performance and individual performance.
