JUNIOR SOFTWARE APPLICATION DEVELOPER
At Will Position
FLSA Status: exempt
Salary Range: up to $65,000 (Commensurate with experience)

The Teachers’ Retirement System of Oklahoma (TRS) is seeking to fill a Junior Software Application Developer position. This is a full-time state employee position subject to the Civil Service and Human Capital Modernization Rules. TRS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for assisting the development team in day-to-day operations including, design, development, and maintenance of software applications while gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from senior developers. The expectation is that the person who fills this role will grow into a full developer.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of software applications.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and pull requests
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and debug issues.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, and testing.
- Contribute to documentation for code and processes.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems from an accredited college or university; or a vocational or technical education course resulting in certification in computer applications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree; or 1-2 years of computer applications experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with the following technologies:
- C#
- HTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Version Control Systems such as GIT or TFS
- Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server or MySQL.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience with following technologies and languages: C#, Entity Framework, LINQ, ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server, and T-SQL
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Candidates who can showcase their previous work or projects via public repositories or websites.
