Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cinematography/Filmmaking Instructor to work remotely and lead aspiring middle and high school students in their journey through the captivating field of film production. This part-time position offers an excellent opportunity to shape the creative minds of young filmmakers as they learn to craft short films, documentaries, music videos, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct students on the essential principles of cinematography and filmmaking, encompassing visual storytelling, camera techniques, lighting, and post-production editing.
• Facilitate hands-on projects, guiding students in actualizing their unique creative visions.
• Create and maintain an engaging, high-energy virtual classroom environment that promotes collaboration and inventive thinking.
  
  

Required Skills

• Comprehensive understanding of cinematography practices and the filmmaking spectrum from pre-production to post-production.
• Proficiency in operating cameras, effective lighting strategies, and shot composition.
• Familiarity with industry-standard editing tools, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for equipment setup.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in cinematography or filmmaking is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects effectively, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A proven record of achievement in filmmaking across various genres and styles is preferred.
• Previous experience in teaching or mentoring youth is advantageous but not mandatory.
