Job Overview

We are looking for dynamic and experienced instructors to guide students in Blueprint Reading for Welding as part of an Industrial Welding Pre-Apprenticeship Program aimed at high school students in grades 10-12. This role is pivotal in equipping students with fundamental skills in interpreting manufacturing drawings, thereby enriching their understanding of the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver stimulating, in-person lessons utilizing a structured curriculum focused on blueprint reading and measurement techniques in welding.
  • Offer constructive feedback on assignments and facilitate meaningful class discussions.
  • Leverage instructional technology to augment the learning experience, ensuring students achieve both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that respects and supports the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of all students.
  • Manage classroom dynamics and tailor teaching strategies to suit various learning styles.
  • Maintain essential documentation, including attendance records, time sheets, and student sign-in logs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Apprenticeships & School-to-Work team to uphold necessary documentation and promote program success.
  • Encourage student achievement by employing best practices in education and exemplifying behaviors that foster engagement and retention.

  • A genuine passion for teaching and the ability to engage and inspire students effectively.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding welding processes.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or relevant professional experience in a skilled trade or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience in teaching or training, particularly at the high school level, is greatly valued.
  • Background in a skilled trade or manufacturing, with practical experience in blueprint reading and welding is highly desirable.

Compensation

  • $50.00 per hour
