Job description

Cognizant is seeking a Workday Integration Principal Consultant to be based in Kuala Lumpur. As a Principal Consultant, you will guide clients through the transformation, implementation and operation phases of a Workday implementation. Additionally, you must have a technical aptitude and be capable of configuring the product to meet the business requirements and design specifications.

Responsibilities: 

  • Leverage your expertise to recommend the best solution based on the client’s requirements, budget, and timeline, maintaining flexibility to adapt the scope as additional needs arise.

  • Work closely with key business and IT stakeholders to confirm requirements, consider design alternatives, facilitate discussions, and ultimately drive requirements sign-off.

  • Perform multiple tasks with limited direction, keeping the client, project team, and Engagement Manager updated on project progress and any changes.

  • Evaluate, communicate, and coordinate the technical impacts of application configuration decisions.

  • Create detailed system interface specifications, field mappings, and system process designs.

  • Develop, test, and deploy integrations to meet business requirements.

  • Facilitate knowledge transfer, educating clients on managing and operating interfaces to and from a SaaS platform.

  • Track issues and risks, communicate status, and escalate concerns to project management when necessary.

  • Review solution architectures and components to analyze client requirements for integration processes, ensuring compliance with standards.

  • Engage in advanced integration tasks and technical enhancements such as Workday Extend and Workday Orchestrate for integration deployment as needed.

  • Assist the team with data conversion activities, including data migration, tenant build, and validation as required.

  • Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, supporting them with shadow assignments and skill development.

  • Actively participate in training and internal knowledge-sharing opportunities to further develop and share expertise within the organization.

Skills & Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or other engineering discipline preferred

  • Ideally 3-5 years of consulting experience

  • Workday Integration, Workday StudioTM and Workday CCTPPTM certification preferred

  • Project experience in a technical or techno-functional role on one or more ERP implementation projects using SOA tools (SAP NetWeaver, Oracle Fusion, Workday Studio or other middleware platform)

  • Demonstrated proficiency with web service technologies (REST, JSON, SOAP, HTTP, SSL, PGP, SAML, etc)

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities; able to communicate effectively with diverse people and individuals at various levels within the organization

  • Thrive on simultaneously operating at multiple levels and managing multiple responsibilities.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growing, ecosystem with minimal supervision

  • Passion for exceptional customer service and collaboration.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer expectations.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint programs.
