Job description

Parity is a Remote HVAC Optimization as a Service company. We remotely control and optimize HVAC systems 24/7/365 to deliver automatic energy savings and revenue to multifamily residential buildings and hotels. Using advanced algorithms, Parity can predict the amount of energy needed ahead of time to operate a building to meet its residents' demands and adapt the building's systems and machinery in real time. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Head of Staff to join our team and help shape the future of our organization by managing all aspects of our staffing, recruiting, onboarding process: 

Job Description:

  • The Talent and People Manager will play a critical role in managing and coordinating our staffing needs and some HR functions. This individual will be responsible for overseeing recruitment efforts, managing the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensuring smooth communication and collaboration with the HR team. The role also includes screening candidates, assembling job descriptions and negotiating employee offers, onboarding new hires, and setting up IT systems for new staff members. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in recruitment, human resources, and onboarding processes, with a strong understanding of employee relations and matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal recruitment efforts for various roles across the company, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
  • Manage recruiters and work with senior leadership to define roles and responsibilities
  • Assist in managing and maintaining the HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate closely with the HR team to support employee relations and HR policies.
  • Screen, assess and interview candidates, ensuring a thorough and efficient selection process. 
  • Manage the entire recruiting process from job posting through to final selection with assistance from hiring managers.
  • Prepare and assemble employee offers, including negotiating salaries and benefits packages.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Set up and manage IT systems and administrative tasks for new hires.
  • Address and resolve employee matters, ensuring a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to align staffing strategies with business objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to employment and HR practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in a related role.
  • Proven experience in recruitment, HR management, and employee onboarding.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS & ATS systems and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and manage employee relations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience in IT setup and administration is a plus.


Salary: Competitive, based on experience.

Position Status: full time, 40 hours per week, hybrid

Work location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario
