Job description

Your Challenge

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Trainer, to join our Learning and Development team. The ideal candidate will live in the southern regions of the UK to cover our offices and depots in the south. Please note this is a field based role with regular travel to our offices and depots and occasional nationwide travel to the offices and depots in the UK & Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a range of technical training both internally to colleagues and externally to customers and other third parties as requested
  • Liaise and work with the Engineering Team to develop training materials for new and existing products prior to product release/updates where possible
  • Consult and support the SWARCO family of businesses within the UK&I Region with the identification technical training needs and the planning and delivery of suitable training solutions
  • Development and build of e-learning materials supporting technical upskilling of SWARCO UK&I employees
  • Updating training plans and materials when required to meet product changes
  • Assess and evaluate the impact of training by identifying and agreeing key operational metrics
  • Support the delivery of the Corporate Induction to new starters from across the UK&I Region
  • Generating monthly and quarterly reports for the L&D Manager on training activity completed
  • Liaising with area managers, support clients / customers training and be the main point of contact for external training requests
  • Represent the company at corporate events including but not limited to conferences, training events, school and college engagement activities
  • Level 3 Learning and Development qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrable industry knowledge and/or experience
  • Full clean Driving licence
  • Ability for nationwide and occasional international travel
  • Ability to pick up, absorb and interpret technical knowledge/information
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive training materials suitable for Face to Face and Virtual delivery
  • Stakeholder management skills with a knowledge of project management
  • Presentation skills to both internal and external audiences
  • IT literate and able to use Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regs Qualification – (Advantageous)
  • Installation, maintenance and/or testing and commissioning experience - (Advantageous)
  • Articulate 3 e-learn build experience (or similar) - (Advantageous)
