Senior MDM Business Analyst

We support global standardisation in data management, analytics, and visualisation tools, via our comprehensive Elsevier data platform. About the Role 

The MDM Business Analyst sits within the Enterprise Product Hub (EPH) business team and works closely with stakeholders and the EPH Development teamYou will report to the Director of Data Governance & Product Data. You will be responsible for identifying and analysing business requirements across Elsevier related to the management of Product Master dataYou will contribute to the continuing implementation of and improvement to the EPH MDM application. You will have ownership of specific roadmap activities related to Business Analysis tasks and be required to work according to our Business Analysis Framework. Success is measured against progress on our OKR’s. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Analyse, define and document current & future requirements and business processes. Outputs include user stories, testing scenarios, success criteria, training & user manuals 

  • Identify potential new product data consumers and articulate the value of the data to the business units  

  • Provide support during the development phases including active participation in user testing and confirmation of requirements 

  • Contribute to building and documenting best practices for the ways of working and become an active participant in the Business Analysis Guild 

  • Work on the EPH Support Channel together with the team to ensure coverage & resolution of queries from stakeholders 

  • Develop relationships and build trust with our stakeholders across Elsevier 

Requirements 

  • A deep curiosity and a keen passion for data 

  • Substantial experience as a Business Analyst identifying and delivering improvements that make a difference 

  • Knowledge/ broad understanding of conceptual data modelling & reporting tools 

  • Experience of working in an Agile environment 

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including proficiency in simplifying complex technical content 

  • Ability to translate between business and technical teams maintaining context and bringing clarity  

  • Ability to coordinate business user acceptance testing and facilitate workshops
