Requirements:
- Proven experience in leadership and willing to transition towards a Scrum master role and/or experience gained as a Scrum Master, in an agile environment
- Technical experience as a developer, tester, or business analyst will help.
- Strong understanding of agile values, principles, and frameworks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coach and mentor team members in the use of Scrum and or other agile frameworks
- Ability to facilitate meetings and facilitate decision-making within the team
- Strong ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
- Calm and collaborative approach when operating under pressure, with a willingness to compromise to find solutions.
- Intense customer focus and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and remove barriers to progress, and to escalate issues as necessary
Nice to have:
- Scrum Master certification (e.g. Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. computer science, business, or engineering) is preferred, but not required
Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning meetings, sprint review meetings, and sprint retrospective meetings
- Help the team to continuously improve their processes and practices, using techniques such as retrospectives and process improvement workshops
- Identify and remove any barriers that may impede the team’s progress, and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved within the team
- Work with the product owner to help prioritize and refine the product backlog
- Help the team to communicate effectively with other stakeholders in the organization, including Product Managers, Product Owners, and Designers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the team’s progress, using tools such as burn-down charts and velocity charts
- Foster a culture of self-organization, empowerment, and accountability within the teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization by identifying areas of enhancement and implementing best practices
