Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
This position will assist with onboarding and training of new 4-H Program Coordinators as well as assisting Coordinators in all phases of program management, including conflict management; and ensuring that county 4-H programs follow State 4-H policies.
The position will manage all statewide communication and promotion of youth programs through social media and other forms of outreach. The position will also assist with travel arrangements and contracts for State and National 4-H events.
Required Qualifications:
Relevant education and experience include youth development, leadership, global education or other related fields.
Computer software skills, including the ability to use office software, such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail and electronic calendaring.
Must successfully pass the WSU 4-H Youth Development/Child Protection screening process.
Reliable transportation for year-round travel is required. Mileage will be reimbursed for work related travel at the approved state rate. While using a private or WSU motor pool vehicle for official business, have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in RCW 46.30.020 and RCW 46.29.090).
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Ability to work evenings and weekends on an intermittent basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a field related to the position responsibilities
A minimum of two years of professionally related experience with a focus on youth education, developing community partners or volunteer development
Significant experience in planning or teaching multi-faceted educational programs for youth
Significant experience in leading, coordinating and implementing educational events
Experience using various types of social media including Facebook, X, TikTok, and Instagram
Coursework related to educational principles, curriculum development, program evaluation and/or the cognitive and social development of youth and adults
Effective group facilitation skills
Experience in budget preparation and fiscal management
Experience managing volunteer-delivered programs
Volunteer or paid experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
Experience engaging youth in planning and teaching roles
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal relationship and problem-solving skills in a team setting
Effective communication and presentation skills using a variety of methods and technologies including collaborative, virtual workspaces and websites
Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making capabilities, understand and follow written/oral instructions and seek clarification as needed.
