Job Overview

Join our esteemed team as a Remote Energy Storage Real Estate Attorney, where your passion for renewable energy will shape the future of sustainable development. We are searching for a seasoned legal professional with expertise in real estate transactions to bolster our expanding portfolio of utility-scale energy storage initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in lease negotiations, land options, purchase agreements, easements, entitlements, and site control agreements for renewable energy projects.
  • Draft, amend, and negotiate comprehensive legal land agreements for utility-scale renewable projects.
  • Assist the real estate team with title, survey, and mineral due diligence efforts, including land use research and assessments.
  • Oversee the financial closure of renewable land development purchase and lease transactions, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including outside counsel, throughout the land acquisition process.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of real estate transactions, particularly in the context of renewable energy.
  • Expertise in lease negotiations and land options, with a focus on utility-scale projects.
  • Proficiency in drafting and modifying legal land agreements and related documentation.
  • Knowledge of land title issues, land mineral rights, and project development permitting processes.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills in handling land agreements and large commercial real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with the utility-scale renewables development process, including solar PV, energy storage, and wind.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in large infrastructure land development real estate transactions.
  • Recent experience in a licensed attorney role within a renewable energy development firm is highly preferred.
  • Experience at a reputable law firm is strongly desired.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school is required.
