Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Database Reliability Engineer who is passionate about developing resilient and high-performing database systems. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the seamless operation and continuous enhancement of our database infrastructure. Your expertise in MySQL and DevOps principles will be vital in designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing complex databases that support our key applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the guardian of our core MySQL/InnoDB & Redis/KeyDB databases, ensuring their maintenance and support.
  • Design, plan, and deploy efficient database schemas to accommodate growth.
  • Analyze existing databases and provide recommendations for performance improvements, ensuring they meet future demands.
  • Implement robust backup strategies to maintain data consistency and integrity.
  • Develop and execute automation solutions aimed at streamlining database management tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve high-quality results and facilitate seamless system integration.
  • Stay current with security best practices and implement them across database systems.

Required Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in configuring, supporting, and modeling MySQL/MariaDB databases, preferably in a Linux environment.
  • Strong grasp of database concepts, including ACID properties, schemas, stored procedures, and replication.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting database performance and optimization challenges.
  • Familiarity with storage, networking, and systems that influence database performance.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Zabbix.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl) and automation platforms (Ansible, Chef, Terraform).
  • Competence in troubleshooting within UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
