Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to join our Real Estate Solutions Department. This remote position involves building and nurturing trustworthy relationships with nonprofit clients while facilitating their real estate learning, planning, and project objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional multi-tasking capabilities, leading and supporting various projects of differing sizes, scopes, timelines, and locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and execute real estate consulting and development projects, taking the role of project team lead for smaller initiatives while supporting larger, more complex projects.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse client portfolio, managing expectations and project goals effectively.
  • Conduct analyses of project space needs, budgets, financing options, and occupancy costs, evaluating clients’ capacity to undertake debt and manage real estate.
  • Coordinate site visits, assessments, and evaluations of prospective buildings and properties, ensuring comprehensive due diligence for each project.
  • Guide the project team in preparing detailed written reports and analyses for clients, including feasibility and facility assessment reports.
  • Monitor project progress against established plans, identifying potential challenges and facilitating solutions to ensure timely completion.
  • Manage team member contributions, setting deadlines and overseeing project deliverables, while keeping supervisors informed through regular updates.
  • Represent the Real Estate Services Department at meetings and events as needed, preparing necessary written materials.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in client management and consulting, building strong relationships based on client objectives.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, particularly in the areas of real estate and planning.
  • Direct project management experience, adept at handling multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit operations, governance, and financial management is preferred.
  • Commitment to embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion considerations into internal and external processes.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in urban planning, environmental studies, business, or real estate, or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in economic or community development, real estate analysis, financial analysis, or government administration.
  • Regular travel within the assigned region and occasional travel throughout the Midwest is expected, including site visits to various property types.
