Job Overview

Join our team as an Audit Management Consultant, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing government audit processes. This remote position allows you to collaborate closely with Government Agencies and the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) to implement significant improvements in audit methodologies. Utilizing your expertise, you will streamline audit functions and bolster the financial oversight of government contracts through a focused business process improvement (BPI) strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with federal agencies, including DCAA, to identify and execute enhancements in audit processes and financial services.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at boosting the efficiency and accuracy of audit functions.
  • Offer expert counsel on audit procedures, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and financial standards.
  • Assist in evaluating costs related to contract audits, ensuring adherence to government financial requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather insights and refine audit methodologies continuously.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing audit performance, process enhancements, and strategic recommendations for senior management.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing consultative services to stakeholders to address challenges in audit processes and financial management.

Required Skills

  • Strong consultative approach with a proven ability to manage key client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on engaging stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Sharp analytical skills for resolving complex issues, particularly in process optimization.
  • Familiarity with DCAA regulations and audits is advantageous, but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of DoD financial oversight and contract management.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPA or DCAA-related credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen with Public Trust or higher clearance.
  • A minimum of 10-12 years in audit management, preferably in government agencies, defense contracts, or performance auditing.
  • Proven experience leading government audits, emphasizing process improvement and financial oversight.
  • Background in large audit firms is a notable advantage.
