The Payroll Manager, APAC for Cytiva is responsible for leading a team of 5+ payroll specialists successfully delivering accurate and timely payroll across all divisions in compliance with local laws and reporting requirements. You are the face of Payroll that supports all associates and works closely with other HR functions, control partners and local authorities. We seek a talented and dynamic individual who has a control and compliance mindset with the ability to keep pace with the changing regulatory environment. You will inherit a function that is still evolving, which will require you to be hands-on in your approach.

This position is part of the HR Operations - Payroll department located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will be on site. The Payroll Manager will be supporting business initiatives such as future M&A, divestitures or any other local regional or global project meant to improve operations.

What you will do:

  • Deliver accurate and timely payroll every pay cycle; monitor vendor KPI and hold monthly review with payroll vendor, quarterly review with statutory compliance
  • Manage vendor relationship and hold them accountable for quality of delivery
  • Report any control issues on a timely basis to process owners
  • Strive for operational excellence: lookout for ideas to increase performance, maintain a customer service focus to resolve queries from associates, other HR functions and control partners as well as external parties such as local tax authority, payroll vendors, etc.
  • Define and document payroll related policies, practices and reporting
  • Support and manage vendor transitions, consolidation or services
  • Engage the key stakeholder group of HR Managers, Business Partners and Finance Controllers, on progress made on key imperatives and against the annual shared services plan

Who you are:

  • 3+ yrs Experience in HR/Payroll leadership
  • Experience with international payroll tax, benefits, including analyzing processes and controls, planning improvements, leading changes, payroll migration and managing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent command of English – read/write/speak
  • Result oriented, high on initiative with a need to deliver on time; willing to learn and assist others

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel internationally – 20% of the role

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Payroll transitions and implementation
