Position Summary: 

The Quality Technician TCA (Taco Canada) is responsible for all Taco Canada quality needs, including but not limited to return merchandise authorization processing, non-conformance report processing, incoming inspection, calibration program and preventative maintenance. They lead investigation and resolution to shipping and receiving discrepancies while routinely performing audits on transactions related to material movement within the warehouse.

Measures of success:

  • Improve quality of product manufactured at Taco Canada by implementing standard processes and procedures.
  • Document, track and improve key performance indicators such as mis-shipments

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Processes return merchandise authorizations (RMAs) in a timely manner, both incoming from customers and return to vendor.
  • Processes non-conformance reports (NCRs) and discrepant material reports (DMRs) in a timely manner ensuring everything is well documented. Ensures purchasing team and vendor are informed of quality defects.
  • Acts as the on-site quality inspector for RMAs and NCRs and incoming inspection processing.
  • Tracks and documents mis-shipments including over shipments, short shipments and incorrect shipments. Requests cycle counts to validate these discrepancies and work with customer service and operations team to make the customer square and resolve the inventory discrepancy.
  • Works with Taco Inc. team to maintain calibration schedule on equipment.
  • Responsible for supporting the preventative maintenance program.
  • Responsible for filing and storage of test reports and other quality documentation.
  • Conducts internal audits to ensure products are of high quality; closes and follows up on audit findings.
  • Prepares quarterly returned goods analysis, highlighting new products and products with high return rate; analyzes returns as requested (e.g., by Account/Product managers), or as indicated by customer complaints or returned goods frequency.
  • Coordinates containment actions to prevent further escape of non-conforming materials; reviews and approves written corrective action responses from suppliers and Taco.
  • Tracks and analyzes destroyed in field product and in-house defective material.
  • Tracks first pass yield on commercial pump and booster line.
  • Reports discrepant material reports to corporate quality for review.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • College diploma in Manufacturing or Engineering with a focus in Quality
  • 2+ years of experience working in quality (within a manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Experience working with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001
  • Experience in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Travel: none required

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering

Work Environment

This position works primarily in an office environment using computers and technology.  Verbal and auditory capability are required.  Occasional exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent.  Safety gear is required in these areas.

This position reports into the site every day.  Ability to work from home will be granted on an ad hoc basis.

This role has no direct reports.

 

Full Compensation packages are based on candidate experience and certifications.
Salary range
$46,321$60,217 CAD
