Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced ProjectWise CAD Manager to lead the administration, configuration, maintenance, and support of our ProjectWise environment. In this role, you will oversee project setup, provide user support and training, and ensure that CAD standards are maintained across all projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD production and a deep understanding of engineering workflows to help drive efficiency and innovation within our team.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Project Setup & Maintenance: Create and manage projects in ProjectWise, ensuring smooth setup and ongoing support for all users.
  • Software Configuration: Evaluate, configure, and manage software integrations within the ProjectWise environment.
  • User Support & Training: Provide expert-level support to users, troubleshoot issues, and offer training on ProjectWise and CAD standards.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain process documentation, CAD standards, and best practices to ensure consistency across projects.
  • System Integration: Lead the integration of ProjectWise with software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, OpenRoads, and OpenRail to streamline project delivery.
  • User Permissions & System Updates: Manage user permissions and implement system updates, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Software Testing: Test and evaluate new versions of ProjectWise and CAD software, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Strategic Direction: Drive innovation and continuous improvement in CAD design processes and ProjectWise implementation.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a go-to resource for CAD software, providing solutions and expert guidance on AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Standards Development: Establish and enforce CAD standards, workflows, and best practices for consistency and efficiency across all teams.
  • Software Management: Oversee licensing, upgrades, and maintenance of CAD software, staying up-to-date with advancements in the field.
  • Training & Mentorship: Train CAD technicians and junior team members, fostering skill development and ensuring adherence to CAD standards.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Participate in project planning meetings and ensure CAD designs align seamlessly with broader engineering objectives.
  • Specialty Software Support: Manage additional design software as needed.
  • Project Execution: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure CAD designs are effectively integrated into larger projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of ProjectWise and extensive experience in its configuration and management.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, including MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenRail, AutoCAD, and Civil3D.
  • Strong communication skills: Able to explain complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Organizational excellence: Capable of managing complex project setups and ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Deep understanding of industry standards and best practices in civil and railroad engineering.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a ProjectWise Administrator in an engineering environment, including coordination with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Bentley CAD software in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering workflows and CAD standards.
  • 6+ years of experience as either a CAD Manager or ProjectWise Administrator, with a preference for candidates with experience in the railroad industry.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience with AutoDesk software in CAD production.
  • Trade school certification in CAD software or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to continuous learning to stay current on industry trends and job-related developments.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Active membership in professional organizations or technical committees is preferred.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Train and guide other CAD managers and users.
  • Monitor performance, offering guidance to improve the accuracy and efficiency of CAD designs.
