Job Title: Maintenance Planner

Department: Maintenance

Location: Calgary, AB (YYC)

Work Arrangement: This role is primarily based in the office environment with occasional work-from-home flexibility

 

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Supervisor or designate, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for coordinating maintenance requirements across Maintenance Bases, MCC, and OCC, ensuring the smooth alignment of both Operations and Maintenance needs. Operating with minimal supervision, the planner may occasionally need to travel. The role involves working in both a traditional office and an aircraft hangar, where exposure to inclement weather is possible. The position also requires periods of sitting, as well as physical activities such as bending, stretching, stooping, and reaching. Additionally, the planner must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

 

Primary Job Functions:

The duties of the Maintenance Planner include:

  • Monitor daily the process of the operation and make changes based on maintenance requirements
  • Keep Operations informed of all scheduled maintenance concerns via communication (verbal and emails) and maintenance blocks in Nav Blue
  • Maintain and oversee the 14-Day Maintenance Forecast in the MRO tracking system, and in conjunction with MCC and OCC scheduled maintenance
  • Issue complete and correct daily Work Packages for Remain Overnight (RON) visits
  • Plan, track, and issue all fleet-wide EO, FCDs, Interior Appearance Checks, and other Condition maintenance items as planned in the MRO tracking system or as deemed necessary
  • Package maintenance tasks using AMOS and ensure tasks are within the defined capability of the assigned base
  • Coordinate with Materials, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure timely accomplishment of all EO and FCD
  • Develop requirements for manpower staffing, parts usage, and required aircraft downtimes for each specific pre-planned operation
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Planning Supervisor and MCC regarding accomplishment of work
  • Coordinate with Planning, MCC, and OCC on any aircraft routing plans, or changes to plans, to facilitate maintenance
  • Request short-term escalation per established procedures
  • Chairing Morning meetings for all associated parties as required
  • Managing other projects and accomplishing other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Planning Supervisor


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: 
    • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
    • Transport Canada AME (M1 or M2) license is considered an asset
  • Experience: 
    • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Maintenance Planning or Maintenance Control
    • High level of knowledge of aircraft maintenance schedules and maintenance programs
    • Previous experience with airline operation technical record/maintenance administration 
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian Air Regulations (CARs)
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential
    • Knowledgeable on computer-based maintenance software, AMOS is considered an asset
    • Experience with Boeing 737, including NG and/or MAX is considered an asset
  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Maintenance, Engineering, Materials, and Operations

    • Ability to improve or develop systems for increased efficiency
    • Self-starters must have a positive attitude and a strong desire for success
    • Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
