Job description

Job Description:

Business Title: Marketing Manager

Company: Youbill Inc (dba Member Solutions)

Location: Remote USA

THE COMPANY

Member Solutions, a division of Jonas Software, stands out as a leader in billing & member management solutions for membership-based businesses in the United States and Canada. With over thirty years of experience, we have primarily focused on martial arts studios and extend our support to fitness facilities, gymnastics clubs, dance studios, shooting ranges, and more. Our unique 'software for life' philosophy emphasizes the importance of building partnerships, understanding our clients' businesses, and helping them create stronger communities, one member at a time.

Our software-as-a-service (SaaS) products and managed billing services enable businesses to simplify their in-house operations, ensure accurate & timely invoicing and collections, and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

Member Solutions, headquartered just north of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is not limited by geographical boundaries. We are a growing team, expanding across the continent and beyond, offering exciting opportunities for career growth. We take pride in our 'software for life' philosophy, which is more than just selling a product. It's about building partnerships, understanding our clients' businesses, and helping them create stronger communities, one member at a time.

THE POSITION

This position generates qualified leads—period, full stop. Our Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and directing all advertising campaigns. As a sales-led growth company, you will be leading from the front. You’ll need to regularly conduct the necessary market research to understand our target audiences, forecast marketing costs and expected results, and collaborate with the entire company and our partners to execute your marketing strategy.

The Marketing Manager is a role with three distinct responsibilities:

  • Market research is where it all begins. From customer feedback to competitor analysis and everything in between, you’re always searching for novel insights. You prefer quantitative data but have a strong intuition and love experimentation. You regularly use professional research products, though you find sleuthing on Reddit and Facebook pretty valuable, too. You’ll collaborate with our product owner, aligning our sales & marketing machine with our product roadmap. Excitingly, our development team is counting on you for fresh ideas to build a more attractive product.
  • Building our marketing strategy is at the heart of this role. The goal is to get qualified leads in front of our sales specialists. How that happens is entirely up to you, though we know it must be a multi-channel approach. PPC ads, referral management, comparison sites, organic traffic, and OOH advertising may all be part of our portfolio – and you’ll need to optimize our limited budget (money and time) across it all. The more compelling your strategy and its performance, the more resources you’ll receive to bring it to life. You’ll be responsible for all monthly marketing forecasts, including expected lead gen by channel, per-channel expenses, return on ad spend, and any variance analysis as required.
  • Ideas are only as good as their execution, and you’ll lead the implementation of your marketing strategy from the front. Being the point of contact for all marketing-related third parties, being accountable for all marketing-related timelines, and representing marketing in all internal conversations are just some of the ways you’ll show your ownership of the marketing strategy.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the overall Member Solutions marketing strategy, taking a hands-on approach in executing the plan and day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with the management team to establish annual brand marketing goals and strategy.
  • Work closely with the sales and account management teams to help drive sales and increase retention.
  • Track results by reporting regularly on marketing channels, industries, locations, etc.
  • Analyze past initiatives to develop annual marketing budgets for assigned brands.
  • Own marketing operations and act as project manager for the team; set priorities, hit milestones and deadlines, and maintain a marketing calendar
  • Own and maintain marketing automation efforts to help meet sales and retention goals.
  • Work with our design team and partners to optimize the website experience, driving traffic and conversions.
  • Act as our primary brand ambassador; own and execute PR efforts to expand reach, brand awareness, and market share.
  • Collaborate and maintain relationships with third-party advertising, SEO, and other experts as needed to execute our strategy.
  • Actively own and update a vibrant competitors list.
  • Foster partnerships with industry organizations and thought leaders to promote our brands.
  • Keep abreast of other departments’ priorities and be willing to help with key projects as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
  • 2+ years of marketing experience, with a preference given to those with a sales-driven digital B2B background.
  • A proven outside-of-the-box thinker who can evaluate and tweak approaches based on a comprehensive understanding of our business goals and received feedback. Incorporating real-time data and meeting regular deadlines is expected.
  • You must be extremely comfortable taking directions, making independent decisions, and providing well-organized written, quantitatively supported arguments for your choices. Taking initiative will be critical in this role.
  • We’re learning together, so a positive, constructive attitude will be critical to your success. A sense of humor will also be helpful.
  • Knowledge of SEO and website optimization best practices is a plus.
  • We’ve adopted HubSpot as an organization, and working knowledge will be an asset.
  • Given the remote nature of the role, you must have a dedicated workspace in your home, a reliable internet connection, and a willingness to be on camera regularly.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft software suite, especially Excel.
  • Possess exemplary written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills.
