Materials Science Consultant
Key Role:
Perform professional engineering and scientific support to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Support as a technical consultant the development and management of innovative government-run research and technology programs centered on the development and applications of materials science and material development for a variety of unique problem spaces. Provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior decision-makers while conducting background research in evaluating the feasibility and the defense applications of new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients, assist with program ideation and technical program management, and brief materials out for government R&D efforts. Work with world-class scientists in driving forward groundbreaking research efforts developing new materials across a variety of applications spaces.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience with defense research and development
3+ years of experience with researching materials science and its applications
3+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences
Secret clearance
Doctorate degree
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with developing novel materials for specific applications
Knowledge of applying advanced data analysis techniques to materials science
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possession of excellent organization and client service skills
Top Secret clearance
Doctorate degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
