CMFG Life Insurance Company, d/b/a TruStage, is seeking an Application Analyst III to join our Annuities IT business area. The individual may work remotely anywhere in the United States but will report to the company HQ in Madison, WI.  This individual will join a highly collaborative team of 4-6 individuals made up of developers and technology analysts. Annuities IT is specifically heavy on integration and back-end development with some opportunities for front-end web-based development. We are continually pushing towards hosting applications with Azure (Functions, APIs). We are looking for someone who has experience in an agile (SCRUM) environment and is a collaborative team player.

This individual is responsible for the development of program logic, modifying existing programs, test and documenting complex application systems to ensure efficient and effective system processing that needs the needs of the business areas across various technology platforms.  The individual designs and codes using program logic necessary to meet the application needs of multiple complex systems consistent with the specifications, standards, and existing programs to enable effective maintenance of the system. Develops code in a manner that is straightforward, clear, and consistent with existing programs within the system and in compliance with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This individual will act as a mentor and provide guidance to less experienced programmers.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer and information sciences or related field and 5 years of progressive software development experience. As part of the Five years of progressive software development experience, the individual must have:

  • 5 years of experience analyzing, designing application systems, developing, testing, debugging, and involved in application development life cycle using agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
  • 4 years of work experience in programming languages including but not limited to C#.Net, VB.Net, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, Web Services, MVC Framework, Microservices, Win Forms, WPF, SQL, T SQL, and PL/SQL.
  • 4 years of work experience in client-side application GUI design, UI design and user-friendly design approaches, single page applications, responsive web pages with performance functionalities in the web applications using JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML4/5, React, Vue.js, Bootstrap, SOLR with Angular JS and Angular 2/4.
  • 3 years of work experience in XML and related technologies like XSL, XSLT, XPATH, DOM, XAML and experience in generating the correspondence for an application using MSOpenXML.
  • 3 years of work experience in writing Stored Procedures, Cursors, Triggers, Views, User Defined Functions, Complex Query joins using T-SQL, PL/SQL, LINQ, Performance Tuning, and Optimizing SQL Queries.
  • 3 years of work experience in resolving the production problems i.e. (system outages) and determine underlying cause of outage and addresses it to prevent future occurrences.
