Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic HR & Finance Assistant to join our team. This standalone role requires you to work independently on a day-to-day basis, although training and support will be provided by the HR & finance team at the external agency we currently work with. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our HR & finance function as we transition these tasks in-house.

The position demands excellent prioritisation and multitasking skills to manage daily financial operations effectively, alongside semi-regular HR activities & initiatives. We seek someone who is always happy to help, willing to go the extra mile, and can work collaboratively and positively at all times. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to take on varied responsibilities with enthusiasm and dedication.

Key accountabilities

  • Manage daily financial transactions and maintain accurate records
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial procedures
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
  • Assist with onboarding & offboarding of new employees
  • Assist with recruitment and screening of candidates
  • Conceive new ways to improve employee engagement and morale
  • Support with administrative tasks across various departments in the business e.g. HR, recruitment, marketing, etc. 

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a finance/HR role, ideally in a standalone capacity in a small start-up environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile

Benefits

  • £30,000 - £35,000 salary per annum, depending on experience
