Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Applied AI Researcher who has experience performing applied AI research to identify, evaluate, and prototype solutions to complex problems.

Summary:

At Datasite we are transforming the way companies do Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). We have the industry leading M&A platform built on a modern micro-services architecture. We are looking for a talented AI Research Scientist to join our team and explore novel solutions to a range of problems in the M&A space.  As a Senior Applied AI Researcher, you will research solutions for improving the efficiency of traditionally slow, rote, and ultra-high stakes workflows, while maintaining and instilling customer trust.  You will work with a team of AI/ML professionals to develop and deploy AI technologies that are central to building a deep moat for an indelible brand in M&A. You will build technology that the smartest minds in finance will rely upon every day.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform research with the goal of improving business outcomes throughout the organization.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prototype AI solutions tailored to our sophisticated, high-stakes customer base.
  • Collaborate closely with members of the AI/ML Team and Product Managers to demonstrate solution alternatives.
  • Build a path to viable product outcomes leveraging ML, NLP, and LLMs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research ways of improving business outcomes through the use of AI/ML.
  • Investigate AI solutions that make document review, document organization, and Q&A processes more efficient.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers to create solution requirements.
  • Develop new AI models and algorithms that power foundational products within Datasite.

Qualifications:

  • Experience performing quantitative research with the goal of improving specific product outcomes.
  • Experience identifying and evaluating competing AI solution alternatives and making recommendations to both the AI/ML and product teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI solutions that enhance product offerings and customer satisfaction.
  • Natural inclination to seek understanding of customers, consider business context, and learn from shipping code.
  • Experience with NLP and Deep Learning frameworks.

Minimum Education:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • 10+ years performing quantitative research that resulted in outcomes that made direct, measurable product impact.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently on complex problems.
  • Ability to communicate progress on research objectives to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work in conjunction with teams and product groups.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire new domain knowledge.
  • Publications and/or patents highlighting prior research endeavors.

As a global organization, Datasite knows that diverse perspectives are essential to our success. We’re committed to maintaining a diverse workforce to serve our customers around the world.
