About the team and the role:

People are at the center of everything we do at eBay! The People Technology Solutions (PTS) team provides the enabling technology foundation for candidate and employee experiences at eBay. Our portfolio encompasses the Workday suite of products at the core, supplemented by ancillary SaaS products and custom solutions.

This role will be responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the Workday Core HCM and Onboarding modules, along with shared responsibility for Workday Security. This includes working with People Operations leaders (including our People Experience Shared Services organization), People Business Partners, other People Team CoE teams, IT and other partners to define and implement improvements to our core HCM and Onboarding processes, as well as solving and resolving system issues. The ideal candidate will have a deep level of understanding of Workday Core HCM, Onboarding and Security and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

This individual contributor role can be filled as either a hybrid role with proximity to our Salt Lake City office, or as a hybrid role with proximity to our Dublin, Ireland office.

What you will accomplish:

  • Collaborate with customers across multiple departments to understand their needs and translate them into actionable requirements.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, including project plans, timelines and status reports

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business operations to find opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains

  • Support customers with training and organizational change on new processes and capabilities

  • Build a partnership with COEs and other trusted stakeholders

  • Conduct WD Community Research and review Product Roadmaps periodically for potential adoption

  • Participate, as needed, in any Design Partner Group or Early Adopter activities where eBay may engage with Workday.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver business and technical requirements with solution concepts, scenario maps, process maps, business rules etc.

  • Deliver innovative products and solutions that address sophisticated business problems in the HCM Core, Security, and Onboarding space

  • Lead configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday HCM Core Business Processes to meet requirements, timelines, and execution standards.

  • Collaborate with IT team to ensure that integrations are built to address business requirements as requested

  • Work multi-functionally to help deliver a consumer-like digital experience in Workday with focus on Self-Service capabilities

  • Provide production support to deliver excellent operational response

  • Understand and act upon emerging customer needs & opportunities, providing alternate approaches and solutions

  • In-depth knowledge of SOX compliance and regularly conducting meetings with the SOX or Internal Audit teams to ensure that compliance and implementation standards are maintained.

  • WD Release Review and Impact Analysis

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Sciences, or related field or equivalent experience required

  • 5+ years of validated expertise in Workday Business Process Configurations and System related capabilities. (DocuSign integration, Workday Docs, Calc Fields, Report Writer, EIB, Workday Security).

  • Experience working in a service delivery model which includes a shared services organization

  • Previous consulting experience with a consulting/software company or previous experience with a medium to large multinational company

  • Sophisticated Workday Experience and/or Workday Pro certifications in HCM Core, Reporting, Security and Release Management

  • Sophisticated Workday report writing experience, both in modifying delivered and crafting custom reports. Proficiency with calculated fields, composite reports, matrix reports, dashboards, etc.

  • Experience in implementing custom applications via Workday Extend is a plus.

  • Experience supporting or configuring Workday Journeys is a plus.

  • Previous experience with HR Case Management Systems and tools (e.g., Workday Help, Salesforce, ServiceNow) is a plus

  • Solid grasp of data privacy (e.g., General Data Protection Rules) impacts for HR

  • Good communicator able to present business cases and solution options to non-technical audiences 

  • Analytical, able to break down sophisticated problems into root causes and then scalable solutions 

  • Can work independently, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks under minimal direction 

  • Adaptable, fast-paced decision-making skills with the ability to drive business results

  • Confirmed experience with Position Management staffing model
