Job description

About the Role

The Instructional Designer will partner with the Sr. Director of Learning and Development to develop, deploy, and deliver training programs that result in better users of Crunchtime software and resources, inside and out of the organization.  This person will ensure our training continues to be super accessible, relevant to our learners’ daily lives, and cutting edge in terms of design and presentation.

What you'll do as an Instructional Designer 

  • Utilize principles of instructional design to write e-learning scripts and storyboard the interactivity and graphic approach for courses.
  • Collaborates with the Crunchtime training team on peer reviews, online reviews, troubleshooting unexpected course behavior, and ongoing process improvement.
  • Assesses, researches and recommends topics for inclusion in Crunchtime’s course library.
  • Works with Product SME’s, Implementation, and Marketing teams when needed for script development.
  • Works with customers periodically on script development, consultation on their training methodology and review of their courses for recommended changes or improvements.
  • Stays abreast of key trends in Adult Learning and instructional design and integrates them into training solutions.  Explores, experiments, and implements ideas to advance the quality of our training materials.
  • Assists with testing, installation and maintenance of courses on the Crunchtime Learning Management System.

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated expertise in the application of Adult Learning theory and methodology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Formal and working knowledge of all levels of the instructional design process.
  • Graphic design experience is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an e-learning script writing or storyboarding role.
  • Strong ability to present complex concepts and information in an easily understandable format.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and operate under tight deadlines.
  • Equally confident working independently or as part of a team.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with the restaurant industry is a plus.
  • Experience with Articulate Storyline/Rise for authoring is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, After Effects) is a plus.
  • Experience with Tin Can API/xAPI is a plus.
  • Experience in a SaaS or similarly paced environment is a plus.
