Location: Remote (Office location is Fairfax, VA)

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.

Overview:
Kreative Technologies is in search of a Test Engineer or a Quality Assurance engineer to work within an Agile team construct to aid in the development of Windows, Java, SQL Server systems leveraging the latest middle-ware technologies. The Test Engineer should be familiar with automated testing methodologies and have hands-on experience working with multiple software technologies to include web servers, middleware applications, Windows and Java based systems. The Test Engineer will be required to help lead testing efforts and develop innovative solutions to ensure Windows, Java, SQL Server-based applications, etc. are functioning as designed without bugs and/or flaws. This will require the engineer to understand the full scope of the developed systems and applications, and to be intricately familiar with the configuration files (XML, JavaScript files, Web configuration files, protocols) so that they can be thoroughly tested. The Test Engineer will serve a vital role, as the candidate will be responsible for all coordination between the development team and the project management team to ensure the newly developed application meets all requirements and Government expectations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a willingness to learn and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform software testing, analysis, assessment, and write Quality Assurance test plan and test cases.

• Review developed applications and correlating design documents. Examples of such analysis will involve system architecture, infrastructure specifications (Ports & Protocols, Storage, system sizing etc.) of complex IT systems in DoD network.

• Evaluate, design, and prepare different technical data calls and technical documents.

• Coordinate with several team members to gather requirements and to ensure all phases of the application development process are thoroughly planned and executed.

Education/Skills/ Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• 1-3 years of experience with information systems, software applications, and computing systems.

• Basic understanding of UNIX and Windows file systems

• Basic understanding of Networking

• Experience in software testing involving mixed-technology applications
