The Red Hat Identity Management Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Principal Software Quality Engineer to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of quality for Identity Management product and related technologies, including SSSD, LDAP, and Kerberos. You'll be required to interpret test requirements for SSSD customer use cases and develop innovative automated solutions for testing real-world customer workflows in test environments containing SSSD. You'll have an opportunity to grow and familiarize yourself with an integrated security information management combining Linux, LDAP, Kerberos, NTP, DNS, Dogtag, FreeIPA and others.
What Will You Do
- Design, develop and maintain test environments and automated test suites in py.test for SSSD
- Assure continued quality of existing features of SSSD, and assess quality on newly developed and planned features for the Identity Management project
- Develop new tests in Python using py.test testing framework to be used in CI jobs.
- Support CI infrastructure and deploy environments using openshift
- Explore, Identify and document new bugs, defects and feature requests.
- Work in a fast paced agile environment.
- Work with internal support, engineering, documentation teams distributed across different geographic locations.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Serve as backup technical lead.
What Will You Bring
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the industry
- Solid skills and background in Linux
- Deep knowledge of python programming, shell scripting.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, continuous integration, and pipelines.
- Well-versed in trends and technologies related to LDAP
- Experience with leading or mentoring junior team members
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
Experience With The Following Is Considered a Plus
- Kerberos
- MS Windows administration (power shell, Jenkins node)
- Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
