About the position:
This is a senior lending and client-facing role within the front office. The primary job responsibility is the execution of new project finance transactions in collaboration with the sector coverage professionals. ING is consistently ranked top-5 in the project finance league tables, in the Americas and globally. As part of this winning team, you will work very closely with senior management, sector originators, our loan distribution group and credit risk management. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of newly originated deals in a variety of sectors including Renewables & Power, Energy, Infrastructure and Technology.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the origination efforts of ING’s sector bankers Partnering with in the loan execution, underwriting and legal documentation associated with new project finance transactions.
- Initial deal screening/selection and risk return analysis. Industry & market analysis.
- Managing and leading deal teams through the loan underwriting process, including credit approval and loan closing.
- Project finance debt models and internal risk rating models.
- Performing due diligence, managing and writing credit applications, including ancillary documents.
- Overseeing the credit application
- Reviewing and/or negotiating financing documents and material project agreements.
- Managing and training deal teams.
- Mentoring junior staff
Qualifications and Competencies:
- 9 + years of relevant project/corporate finance experience, ideally in the North American power and infrastructure industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA is a positive.
- Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities.
- Financial modeling capabilities, including strong Excel skills and ability to develop debt-sizing and 3-statement financial projection models.
- In-depth knowledge of the project finance market, including a healthy degree of familiarity with financing structures, tax equity, etc.
- In depth knowledge of one or more of the following industries: Renewables & Power, Hydrocarbons & New Energy, Infrastructure, TMT, Transportation & Logistics
- Interest in becoming expert in an additional sector referenced above, or in Export Finance or Food & Agriculture.
- Ability to develop and mentor junior staff members.
- Excellent presentation and written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities which involve managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting strict deadlines.
- Committed and dedicated team player, self-motivated high quality/high quantity producer.
- Acute attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of key financial markets and products.
- Understanding of corporate, project and bankruptcy law.

Salary Range $250,000-$300,000
