Job Description

The Associate Marketing Content Writer will be responsible for creating engaging and persuasive content to support the company’s marketing and communications efforts. This role is ideal for a creative and driven individual who is passionate about writing and looking to grow their skills in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with the senior writer and communications head, handling the first drafts of press releases, blog content, and other marketing materials. Additionally, you will assist in various marketing activities, including social media content creation, email campaigns, and content performance analysis. Your contributions will help drive inbound website traffic, enhance our brand identity, and support the company’s overall marketing strategy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Content Creation:
    • Write and edit first drafts of press releases, blog posts, social media content, email marketing campaigns, among others.
    • Develop SEO-optimized content to improve search engine rankings and drive organic traffic.
    • Create persuasive and on-brand copy for various marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, and promotional content.

  • Content Strategy:
    • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop creative strategies that align with the company’s goals.
    • Conduct thorough research on industry-related topics to generate fresh content ideas and ensure content accuracy.
    • Use SEO guidelines and keyword research to optimize content for search engines.

  • Content Performance:
    • Monitor and analyze content performance using analytics tools, providing reports and insights to improve future content.
    • Identify gaps in content and recommend new topics to better engage the target audience.

  • Support Marketing Efforts:
    • Assist in managing the company’s content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of all content.
    • Support the creation of marketing materials for events, including flyers, brochures, and digital assets.
    • Participate in the planning and execution of email marketing campaigns, ensuring content is compelling and on-brand.

  • Skill Development:
    • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to improve writing skills and marketing knowledge.
    • Take the initiative in suggesting new content ideas and strategies to enhance the company’s marketing efforts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to think creatively and translate ideas into compelling copy.
  • Proven experience in writing strong, concise, and grammatically correct content.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices.
  • Strong research skills to ensure all content is accurate and aligns with organizational goals.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the marketing and communications team.
  • An eye for detail and a desire for perfection in all written content.
  • A flexible approach and willingness to adapt ideas to meet organizational needs.
  • Proficiency in using content management systems and basic graphic design tools (a plus).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in content writing, copywriting, or a related role.
  • Portfolio of published articles or writing samples.
  • Experience with content management systems, and general knowledge of social media platforms.
  • HubSpot experience a plus.
  • HootSuite experience a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Sedentary.
  • Not required to exert force or lift more than 10 pounds of weight.
  • Travel required is less than 10%.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform the job

Hourly Rate: $21.50 - $26.45

Hourly rate may be determined on several factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, education, geographical location and requirements stated in job description.
