The impact of the role: 

The Privacy Specialist will be a critical team member of our Strategy Team responsible for:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive data privacy governance strategy for connected cars across Europe.
  • Develop and maintain a compliance program for Connected Technologies, ensuring GDPR and other privacy regulations are met.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments for new products and services, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate privacy-by-design principles into the development process.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure privacy requirements are aligned with technical needs.
  • Provide guidance on data collection, processing, and sharing practices for compliance across all business functions.
  • Monitor privacy regulations and adapt programs to maintain compliance.
  • Work with legal counsel and train teams on best practices for vehicle data usage.

On a given day, a Privacy Specialist will:

  • Demonstrate servant leadership by actively listening, showing empathy, and anticipating future needs.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess privacy risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate complex privacy concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions to manage internal and external privacy challenges.
  • Oversee backlog management and resource allocation for compliance initiatives.
  • Stay updated on privacy law changes and adapt privacy programs as needed.

Requirements

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Law, Technology, Business, Management, or related fields.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data privacy, governance, or compliance, preferably within the technology or automotive sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, data anonymization, data minimization, and competition law.
  • Experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and providing guidance on mitigating privacy risks.
  • Hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams and embedding privacy-by-design principles into product development processes.
  • Experience in high-growth, international environments, working with privacy regulations across multiple regions.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential, as it is the primary business language.
  • Familiarity with compliance and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent systems.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, or other data privacy certifications) would be a strong plus.
