Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Finance Operational Risk Management Manager to join our esteemed organization in a remote capacity. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding processes and practices that evaluate and identify potential risks that could affect our reputation, security, and financial stability. Your expertise will play a crucial role in collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a dedicated team to pinpoint business sectors that may present risks to the organization.
  • Supervise initiatives to assess the potential impact of identified risks.
  • Implement and manage information monitoring systems to mitigate risks through comprehensive analysis.
  • Document resolutions and establish robust control frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review business strategies and make well-informed decisions that promote success in a dynamic environment.

Required Skills

  • 6 years of experience in risk management and controls.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and training junior team members.
  • Self-driven and resourceful, capable of independently identifying and executing solutions.
  • Strong project management capabilities, adept at handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to cultivate collaborative relationships across the organization and effectively gather critical information.
  • Adaptable to changing business needs with a flexible approach to work.
  • High proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing and spearheading change with a focus on continuous improvement and industry best practices.
  • Strong consulting and influencing skills to engage effectively at all levels and secure stakeholder support.
  • Familiarity with mortgage industry dynamics and risk assessment methodologies is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in audit, control testing, and/or financial services is a valuable asset.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Workiva, MetricStream, or similar enterprise GRC systems is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CIA or CPA are considered a plus.
