The Operational Risk Governance, Frameworks, & Initiatives (GFI) Officer role within Operational Risk Management (“ORM”) is primarily responsible for managing ORM Governance Oversight.  The Ops Risk GFI Officer will have working knowledge of operational risk, committee and policy governance, and project management. This role is expected to manage deliverables in a dynamic and matrixed environment while embracing a collaborative and agile approach.  

 

Governance responsibilities will primarily focus on oversight of key management routines across ORM including monthly Operational Risk Committee planning and delivery, and integration with the current sub-committee structure, extended leader forum planning and delivery, and ORM All-Hands planning and delivery. Responsibilities will also include performing review and challenge of new/changed operational risk information maintained within the GRC tool and/or triaging changes across the broader ORM organization and serving as the ORM Document Office leader.

 

This role will work across the ORM organization and partner closely with Enterprise Risk Management teams and will have opportunity to identify and implement strategic improvements across ORM processes to increase effectiveness and efficiency.  

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

·     Manage Operational Risk Committee planning and delivery with the Chief of Operational Risk Oversight, the Programs and Governance Leader, and ORM leadership. 

·     Manage integrated planning across the Operational Risk Committee and sub-committee structure.

·     Manage planning and logistics for extended leadership and all-hands routines, including preparation of recognition for ORM and for inclusion in the broader Risk Management forums.

·     Lead the ORM Document Office ensuring formal documents remain current, meet document standards, and work with Enterprise Risk Management to ensure documents are published for appropriate access; includes review and challenge of items maintained within the ORM inventory.

·     Oversee ORM third party risk assessments for ORM outsourced engagements. 

·     Serve as the Ops Risk SME for review and challenge of new/changed operational risk information maintained within the GRC tool working across appropriate ORM resources.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

·     Bachelor’s Degree preferred, will consider equivalent role experience; risk management certifications considered a plus 

·     Strong governance related experience 

·     Understanding of the three lines of defense model, associated industry type frameworks, and external risk management expectations 

·     Solid understanding of operational risk through first, second, or third line of defense experience 

·     Strong relationship management skills 

·     Strong organizational and documentation skills; must be detail oriented 

·     Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, changing environment  

·     Strong written and oral communications   

·     Excellent time management skills with the ability to set priorities 

·     Proven track record of integrity ethics, judgment, and maturity 

·     Strong with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) 

·     Be self-motivated and results-oriented 

·     Experience with project management 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $90,000 to $110,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
