Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual (English/Spanish) Associate Attorney specializing in criminal law to join our esteemed remote legal team. Our firm prides itself on delivering exceptional legal representation with empathy and integrity, and we handle a diverse array of criminal cases, including DWI, domestic violence, kidnapping, murder, and drug possession, with a significant focus on assisting clients facing severe mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court during bond hearings, plea negotiations, and discovery status conferences.
  • Draft compelling legal documents, including pretrial intervention requests, grand jury packets, and appellate briefs.
  • Independently manage cases while consulting with supervising attorneys as necessary.
  • Conduct client interviews, communicate plea offers, and provide thorough legal counsel on available options.
  • Engage with potential clients via phone, Zoom, or in-person meetings to facilitate their transition to paying clients.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, including in-house training sessions and weekly team meetings.

Required Skills

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and client management skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous professional learning and development.

Qualifications

  • Residency in or near the Austin, TX area.
  • Willingness to attend court proceedings throughout Texas, particularly within a 200-mile radius of Austin.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in criminal law, whether in prosecution or defense.
