Job Overview

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Insurance Underwriter to join our innovative team. While preference will be given to candidates based in Florida, we encourage applicants from other Gulf and Eastern Seaboard states to apply for this remote role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new business submissions to determine their eligibility for coverage.
  • Review initial details provided by prospective insureds and agents.
  • Generate quotes and maintain ongoing communication with insureds and agents until the policy is finalized or a decision is reached not to proceed.
  • Price and rate new submissions in accordance with established guidelines, working collaboratively with the Underwriting Operations Manager as necessary.
  • Foster and sustain robust relationships with insureds and agents, delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Contribute to the attainment of production targets.
  • Supervise Underwriting Assistants, especially regarding endorsement requests and accuracy of bind requests.
  • Monitor Renewal Underwriters' activities, supporting renewal assessments, revisions, and bind requests as essential.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks to bolster the underwriting team.

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Keen attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • A college degree is preferred but not mandatory.
