Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. In this vital role, you will manage and expand an assigned portfolio while also attracting new clients. Your underwriting expertise will enable you to evaluate risks, determine terms and pricing, and build strong, collaborative relationships with agents and brokers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal business by critically assessing applications and making informed risk decisions that comply with company standards.
  • Collaborate closely with agents and brokers to maintain favorable loss ratios and nurture productive working relationships.
  • Contribute to product development and pricing strategies, while actively engaging in territory-based customer development and relationship building.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities and assist in the training of junior underwriters.

  • Ability to interpret complex business and regulatory information while maintaining professionalism in interactions.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting or a comparable role.
  • Proven track record in developing a profitable commercial lines book of business.
