Job description

This position performs the financial, planning and analysis functions for the workforce services portfolio. The Federal Budget Analyst position tracks activity for programs throughout the year, and prepares invoicing related to these programs. This position is responsible for preparing timely and accurate invoices for the workforce services based upon the agreement aligned with the jurisdiction. This position will also be responsible for creating the annual budgets and providing forecasts partnering with the appropriate program leads. In addition, this role is responsible for uploading the most recent budget and/or forecast into the financial system.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial projections and budgets for jurisdictional agreements
  • Oversees and ensures that spending plans are developed, and execution is in accordance with agreement s and organizational priorities.
  • Responsible for post-award contracts administration, including the reviewing and monitoring of individual agreements and transactions for compliance
  • Support and assist in the CDCF annual budgeting and quarterly forecast process.
  • Reconcile revenue and expenditures.
  • Conduct regular budget vs. actual analysis.
  • Advises program lead on budget and revisions when necessary.
  • Prepares monthly or quarterly invoices to jurisdictions.
  • Uploads to financial system new budgets and budget modifications.
  • Assists leadership with financial analysis on specified workforce services budgets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications and Skills Necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business, preferred.
  • 5-7 years of financial analysis experience within nonprofits is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills, strong ability to build relationships as well as strong ability to work with all levels of internal staff and outside contacts.
  • Experience working with a general ledger accounting system, required.
  • Systems experience in NetSuite or another ERP system, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights and NetSuite Analytics Warehouse, strongly preferred.
  • High level proficiency in Excel, required.
  • Ability to work on tasks that require a high level of accounting knowledge but also a willingness to perform tasks that require no accounting knowledge and may be considered entry level work.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently are essential characteristics of this position.
